Acrobatics - Adult - Ballet - Contemporary- Creative Movement - Hip-Hop - Jazz

Men of Bataille (M.O.B)  -

 PointeTap

  Acrobatics

 Students age 4 and up will learn acrobatic floor techniques and tricks. They will also gain physical strength, flexibility and coordination. Class placement for 2nd grade and up is based on individually-judged skill level.

Attire: solid-colored leotard, solid-colored tights, nude foot Undeez or dance Paws(1st grade and up). Fitted shorts may be worn over tights and leotard. Hair must be pulled back off of the face.

Ballet

 Open for ages three through high school. Our ballet techniques are rooted in a French, Italian and Russian based curriculum. The barre work is very traditional with contemporary choreography incorporated in center combinations. It is a beginner-through advanced-level program. Students will be evaluated and placed in specific levels on an individual basis.

Attire: Solid-colored leotard, solid-colored tights, pink or white ballet shoes with elastic over the instep. No skirts. Hair is to be secured tightly in a bun with a hairnet  for 3nd grade and up.Second grade and under may have a pony tail.

Hip-Hop

 Open to grades four and up this area of dance specializes in music video and urban dancing.

Attire: Solid-colored leotard, solid-colored tights, jazz sneakers or jazz shoes. Fitted shorts may be worn over tights and leotard. Hair must be pulled up and off of the face.

Jazz

 

Open for students in 2nd grade and up. Our jazz technique includes a predatory jazz warm-up used in the first two years, and includes important muscle-building exercises that will lead to center stretch, across-the-floor and jazz combinations.  Students will be evaluated and placed in specific levels on an individual basis.

Prerequisite: 1st-5th graders must be concurrently enrolled in a ballet class.

Attire: Solid-colored leotard, solid-colored tights, Caramel slip-on jazz shoes required. Hair is to be secured tightly in a bun with a hairnet.  Fitted shorts may be worn over tights and leotard.

 

Contemporary ( Lyrical)

 

Combining ballet, jazz and modern technique, this style of dance interprets music through movements.

Prerequisite: Must be concurrently enrolled in a ballet class, be in grades 5- 12 and an intermediate- to advanced-level dancer.

Attire: Solid-colored leotard, solid-colored tights, lyrical shoes. Hair must be in a bun.

 Men of Bataille (M.O.B)

This class combines a mix of jazz and hip-hop techniques for boys who are interested in dance.

Attire: Black or white t-shirt, black shorts or jazz pants. Black slip-on jazz shoes are required.

   Pointe

Open to students in 6th grade and up who have already learned basic pointe.  Students will be evaluated and placed in specific levels on an individual basis. For students who are ready to learn pointe but have never taken a class before, we offer a Pre-Pointe class as well.

Prerequisite: Must have a minimum of two years in ballet and be concurrently enrolled in a ballet class.

Attire: Solid-colored leotard and solid-colored tights. For Pre-Pointe: pink ballet shoes with elastic over the instep. For Pointe: point shoes. Hair must be secured tightly in a bun with a hairnet.


Creative Movement

This is a creative movement class for two and three-year-olds. It helps them gain confidence and self-esteem at a young age while encouraging independent skills. These young students will learn music recognition, acrobatic tricks and beginning ballet techniques.

Attire: Students may wear any comfortable clothing which allows them to easily move and stretch including gym shoes. Girls are free to wear leotards, tights and ballet shoes if they wish. Please no large tutus or skirts and no barrettes in hair (they are uncomfortable during tumbling).

Tap

Open to students ages three and up. Our tap technique includes rhythm tap, Broadway-style tap and basic emphasis on universal tap skills. Students will be evaluated and placed in specific levels on an individual basis.

Attire: Solid-color leotard, solid-colored tights, K-2nd graders wear paten black tap shoes with black elastic over the instep (no bows). Black jazz taps, slip on or ties, are required. Hair is to be secured tightly in a bun with a hairnet . Fitted shorts may be worn over tights and leotard.
