Jennifer Cook

Jennifer Cook began dancing at Yomann’s School of Dance when she was three. She moved to Barrington in 1984 and started dancing at Bataille.  She has been teaching since she was 17. In total, Jennifer has 28 years of teaching experience.  Her favorite part of teaching is when students walk into their first dance class; she feels it is a big responsibility and honor to make sure that new students have the best experience. Like many other teachers, Jennifer also loves seeing a student’s face light up after he or she finally gets a step that they have been working on. Jennifer received her BFA in Interior Design in 1997 from Ray Vogue School of Design, currently known as the Illinois Institute of Art. Outside of Bataille, Jennifer has been fortunate enough to share the gift of dance at several public and private schools in the Barrington area, through after school programs. Jennifer has studied under the instruction of Joel Hall, Terrell Paulk, Lane Alexander and Robert Christopher. Her favorite part about dancing is getting out on the stage with the costumes and lights, performing for an audience and entertaining them. When she’s not dancing, Jennifer enjoys spending family time with her husband, Greg, their son Steven, and daughter, Luci.  Steven just started playing hockey along with dancing at Bataille, and Luci is a singer and Bataille dancer as well. Additionally, Jennifer enjoys scrapbooking, cooking and taking care of her garden.
